The experience
A few days, well spent
Choose the island and transfer before choosing individual dive sites. Local islands and private resorts offer different dress codes, alcohol rules and budgets. Certified divers should confirm depth limits, current, equipment and the operator’s no-fly interval before planning the flight home.
Suggested rhythm
Day 1: arrive and transfer to the island. Days 2–3: dive plans agreed with the operator. Day 4: a no-dive island day before flying, with the exact interval set by the dive operator. Build in transfer contingency.
Getting there & staying well
Arrange the resort or island transfer with the accommodation before purchasing final flights. Speedboat schedules and seaplane operating hours are different. Ask about luggage allowances and delays; never assume a late arrival has a same-night connection.
Plan your budget
Request an itemised quote in the local currency. Include accommodation, airport transfers, activity fees, equipment hire, meals, taxes and travel insurance. Boat trips may add fuel, skipper and marina charges; golf may add caddie, cart and club hire. Flight prices are separate. This guide does not publish a live tariff.
Conditions & local etiquette
Choose an appropriately licensed operator. Confirm certification requirements, recent experience, depth limits, currents, equipment service and emergency oxygen. Follow the operator’s no-fly guidance, do not touch marine life and carry insurance appropriate for the dive activity.
