The experience

Diving

A dive trip is best planned around a small number of well-chosen sites, with surface time to enjoy the island. The Maldives pairs tropical reef environments with island stays and boat transfers. Site access, visibility and currents vary; work with a local operator to match dives to your certification and recent experience. Leave generous time between the last dive and the flight home.

Conditions & local etiquette

Choose an appropriately licensed operator. Confirm certification requirements, recent experience, depth limits, currents, equipment service and emergency oxygen. Follow the operator’s no-fly guidance, do not touch marine life and carry insurance appropriate for the dive activity.

Plan your budget

Request an itemised quote in the local currency. Include accommodation, airport transfers, activity fees, equipment hire, meals, taxes and travel insurance. Boat trips may add fuel, skipper and marina charges; golf may add caddie, cart and club hire. Flight prices are separate. This guide does not publish a live tariff.
